The Workouts

These movements are: Pushing, pulling, squatting, lunging, bending, rotating and locomotion (movement in space). This foundational principle has shaped the competition design we now recognize, encompassing exercises such as

The Details...
In a HYROX competition, all participants must complete the same disciplines, but there are different divisions. These divisions include distinctions between genders and categories, specifically the open and pro categories for both men and women. These categories are differentiated based on the weights used in five out of the eight disciplines: Sled Push, Sled Pull, Farmers Carries, Sandbag Lunges, and Wall Balls.
Individually or in PAIRS...
Additionally, HYROX competition allows participation as individual competitors or in pairs. In the Doubles category, distinctions are made between the Open and Pro categories, and genders. There's also a Mixed category for men and women to compete together. In this category, both participants run the eight distances together and share the individual disciplines. They have the freedom to decide who takes on each portion of the disciplines, given they adhere to certain rules, which we will discuss later in this guide. Lastly, the relays offer a great starting point for newcomers. In these, four participants form a team, with each member tackling two running distances and two disciplines.
